Banh Mi in Boston
You can get a good Banh Mi at a place in the food court at the Super 88 Market in Allston. The baguette is fresh and crusty and the filling fresh and tasty.
163 in Boston is awesome
The sandwiches at 163 at 66 Harrison Ave. in Boston (Chinatown) are awesome. They have Vietnamese cold cut, shredded pork, vegetarian tofu, or curry chicken for $2.75 and bbq beef for $3.00. I’ve tried the beef and it’s incredible. You won’t believe this place!
Banh Mi – Maine
Kim’s Gift Shop on (on St John near Congress) has banh mi sammies. She has a variety of fillings, maybe 7 options to pick from. They aren’t the best I’ve ever had, the meat is microwaved, making it a little chewy, but the flavors are still great. As far as I can find it’s your only option for Bahn Mi in Maine.
New Saigon Sandwich
696 Washington St
(between Lagrange St & Stuart St)
Boston, MA 02111
They have reviews on yelp. My favorite is tofu.
There’s apparently a little-known place I ended up finding through a random flickr account called the Golden Fish in Providence, RI that does a couple types of banh mi around lunchtime. They’re like $2.50 a piece, a real steal.
They’re at:
376 Elmwood Ave
Providence, RI 02907
I’m also a big fan of Pho Viet’s in the Allston Super 88
The best banh mi is at the Hong Cuc Sandwich shop in Lowell. They have six different kinds stuffed into an incredible bread. How long will this two-hander remain at plowman prices, $2.50? Recession-proof and tasty. Vietnamese chefs we salute you!
