The DC Sandwich Shop located at 3103 Graham Road, Falls Church, VA 22042-2505 is a great shop for Banh Mi. The pork sandwich is the best on the menu with fresh cilantro and vegetables along with expertly cooked pork. This shop sells a variety of sandwiches made in the Vietnamese style with none of them costing more that $4 (a steal at DC prices). Every sandwich is made to order with friendly service. This litte shop tucked in near the firehose in a strip mall is a real find. They also sell vietnameses sweets, garden rolls and spring rolls that are hand-made freshly in the deli.
Great Wall Billiards located at 7064 Spring Garden Dr. Springfield VA 22150, phone # 703-866-7788. This is the only place we get our all time favorite banh mi pork sandwich. They are really really good and only cost $3.
Harrisburg, PA has a great Vietnamese restaurant which has it’s own French bakery producing the perfect roll for their incredible Bahn Mi. It’s NINH KIEU on Parkview Lane just a few yards from Interstate 83 (717-565-5895) They offer Grilled pork, Chicken, or Sardine fillings, each of which is carefully and consistently prepared and is priced at only $3.75. In fact their entire broad Vietnamese menu is bargain priced. Open 7 day you can satisfy your Bahn Mi craving from early to late. Most of the time you can even catch the Vietnamese owner there keeping an eye on things. Don’t miss this one!
Best Banh mi I’ve ever had is at Nhu’ Lan deli at Eden Center in Falls Church. Seriously amazing sandwich!
There are lots and lots of Vietnamese restaurants and shops around Harrisburg, PA, the result of a local Army Base transporting refugees during and after the Vietnam War to the area. Two of my favorite banh mi shops around Harrisburg are Ninh Kieu and Kim Son Bakery.
In Rockville Maryland there is the Ba Le Vietnamese Restaurant & Deli, on Rockville Pike,
You need to try their BANH MI THIT NUONG , it’s their grilled lemongrass pork sandwich.
My personal favorite.
you can view all of thier Banh Mi’s on thier website http://www.baleofrockville.com . This poster is not affiliated with the restaurant , just a fan.
Had wonderful Banh Mi yesterday at Saigonese on Grandview Ave in Wheaton MD – just steps from the Wheaton Metro and the mall – none cost more than $3!
There is a great place in Vineland, NJ called Saigon Vietnamese. The have an awsome grilled pork Banh Mi.
Ba Le Bakery and Restaurant — located in the strip/quad mall on Washington Street and 6th. Absolutely delicious, on the best Vietnamese baguettes I’ve had.

Rice and noodles in lancaster pa makes magical banh mi and salad version of manh mi.
Rocket to Venus, a bar in the Hampden neighborhood of Baltimore, offers the choice of pate, chicken, tofu, or blackened catfish on its banh mi. Spicy, messy, and addictive!
Fu Wah (West Philadelphia, at 810 S 47th St on Baltimore) is the first place I had banh mi. Last time I went they only had chicken and tofu, but the tofu hoagie was only $2.50 and delicious.
The best Banh Mi EVER has to be at Eden Center in Falls Church, VA. It’s love at first bite<3 I remember first being introduced to Banh Mi when I was 13, and I personally am a VERY picky eater and this Viet sandwich left me wanting more! The breads flaky crust and soft center are amazing, plus the addition of the ham and veggies! Best ever, seriously.
Lucy’s in the Strip in Pittsburgh. She’s in front of Firehouse Lounge at lunch. Excellent banh mi.
Their is a place called Banh Mi DC Sandwiches located in Falls Church, VA, a suburb 15 minutes south of Washington DC.
Nam Son Restaurant at 16th & Washington in Philadelphia makes my favorite bahn mi!
Where is Lucy’s in the Strip in Pittsburgh? I have been trying to find a Banh Mi place in Pittsburgh forever! Kevin?
Best Banh Mi around Hampton Roads is Pho 79!! There are locations in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake & Newport News. Richmond has a location as well 🙂

Rice and Noodles in Lancaster, PA is an excellent choice.
Charlottesville, VA —- The Box has the greatest pork belly banh mi! They also have skirt steak banh mi which looks great too! Gotta have their banh mi with their tempura sweet potatoes!!!! The Box is on 2nd St. SE on the Downtown Mall
BEST Banh Mi in Northern Virginia (yes, I have had it at Eden Center too) is in Leesburg, VA. Go…no RUN to Xuan Saigon located at 11 Fort Evans Road, Leesburg, VA 20176. Oh, and get some of their amazing Pho too! Their broth is YUMMMMM!
I’ve grown up always having known this restaurant that my family would come to to order their banh mi. Sadly, it has been a while since I’ve last visited, a month or two, and its name has escaped me. However, I do remember that it was located right next door to a Pho place in the Rising Sun Plaza in Philadelphia, PA.
823 Adams Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19124
Best banh mi that I’ve ever known my entire life. It’s a somewhat busy place, bustling even when they’re almost ready to close. A family like atmosphere, and perhaps a good 10 minute wait from what I remember but so worth it once you get your hands and mouth on that sandwich. I am salivating just remembering. I strongly recommend this place. Though, the Pho restaurant who address that I gave has some great Pho too; check it out if you have time.
Cafe Banh Mi in Old Town Alexandria, Va has by far the best sandwiches in the D.C. Metro area. I think their Pho I the best in town as well. Not the cheapest, but definitely the best!

BONMi in downtown DC is great! It’s not 100% traditional, but they don’t claim to be either. It is an approachable option for banh mis. They are at 19th and Eye in NW. I recommend the 18 hour beef with spicy chili lime and jalapenos! Yum! My mouth is watering just thinking about it! They have delicious pickled veggies and I could literally drink the chili lime mayo. They also have a unique rice bowl with quinoa and coconut milk that I haven’t seen anywhere else and salads and lettuce wraps too! Everyone seems to complain that it’s expensive for banh mi, but come on! It’s in the heart of DC and uses high quality ingredients. I would go just for the convenience and also the staff is really friendly.
Had a good Banh Mi in a most unexpected place today. The Waterwheel Cafe in Milford, Pa.( Poconos) This quaint cafe is actually in a restored 19th century gristmill. Talk about atmosphere. You can see the working waterwheel and gears trough a glass window in the cafe. It’s on the National Registry of Historic Places! And they have Banh Mi ! Pork, Ham, Duck Pate, and I think a vegetarian offering.
Issei Banh Mi just recently opened in my neighborhood recently. I’ve been to all different types of restaurant around including NINH KIEU and even out to the DMV for DC Sandwiches in Falls Church. The owner of Issei Banh mi is ran by a guy who is half japanese and vietnamese so he brings different flavors like I never tasted before in traditional Banh Mi joint. If you are ever in Lancaster, PA this place is a must stop for quality banh mi at an affordable price! (Order the B4 — Issei Banh Mi Tan-Tan) A little spicy but it has the perfect blend of condiments to make it the best tasting vietnamese sandwich I’ve tried. It’s also vegetarian/Vegan friendly (how rare these days!) You can find this little Take-away window on 44 North Queen Street. Lancaster, PA 17603
Phubs in at 1350 Dorsey Rd Suite J, Hanover, Maryland, (443) 354-3550. Some of the best I’ve had. Ingredients all very fresh and flavorful. They make their broths fresh everyday with no MSG. http://www.eatphubs.com. Unfortunately I’ve moved 600 miles away.
Viet Huong has the best Banh mi in Philadelphia. We have tried them all and the BBQ pork is the best. A warm toasted roll with warm BBQ pork and a perfect balance of shredded carrots, cucumber spears and sprigs of cilantro topped off with a slice of jalapeño. I drive miles many a weekend to pick a few of these up! Add a Pineapple, Mango, or coffee bubble drink for the perfect meal. Just be warned- the collection of really cool candies will have your kids pondering for a long time. Also like the Summer Rolls, and the sweet sesame donuts and Mung bean donuts. Get them while they are hot and fresh!
Cafe Vinh Long serves the best authentic Vietnamese banh mi in Philly area.
